Client: Delaware Solid Waste Authority

On 81 acres, the Delaware Solid Waste Authority carried out a major transfer facility expansion.

The project encompassed:

• A 30,000 square foot transfer building with exterior ramps providing truck access to an upper level
• An 8,000 square foot trailer storage and maintenance building
• A 6,000 square foot canopy over the existing truck scales and scale house
• A 2,200 square foot addition to an existing transfer building

With proximity to a major road, there was great attention to the facility’s visual qualities. The design protects the site’s extensive fresh water wetlands.
